Hit By a Car and Left for Dead
He won’t ever be pain free or able to run without your help. Winston was found hobbling, injured, and alone. It is obvious he has been on this way for long time. It appears he was hit by a car some time ago. He spent the following weeks starving, cold, and scared. Once we were notified of his presence at the shelter, we rushed him to the vet but sadly this is an old injury and the bone can not be repaired. Now this poor is 10 month old puppy will never walk normally. He is in constant pain. The top of the femur aka leg bone lost the blood supply. His only option is to have the head or ball of the femur removed. The hips will work with the support of the muscles and ligaments only. This isn't ideal for such a young dog, but it's better than him losing him leg, or worse, his life. Only with surgery can he be pain free Once he is healed he can start a new life with a new family. https://cuddly.com/donate/3184122/winston Abandoned and Afraid: Left with an Embedded Collar
To say rescue can be emotional is an understatement. Last night we received word of an abandoned dog with a deeply embedded collar. We were not prepared for what we saw. He had taken residence up under a house, and while the owners tried to catch him, his trust in humans had vanished. For two days and nights we worked with him, fed him, tried to gain his trust back. We could only get so far with food alone. Eventually, we were able to slip under the house, and leash him. The wound is horrible, the smell is indescribable. Who knows how long this poor creature has suffered. It has to be months. But through the pain, he was a gentle giant. He's big, he's gorgeous, and he has a kind soul. We don't deserve him. He's safe at the emergency vet now. But he needs surgery, and we need help to make that happen. Humans will not fail him again. But after surgery, we have one last need. And it's a big one. He needs a foster. Someone who can give him a place to rest and recover. Someone who can show him how amazing humans can be. Someone to show him a gentle hand for the first time in a long while. In the meantime, we really need help with his medical bills and crucial wishlist items to get him ready for foster care. https://cuddly.com/donate/3167603/xyler |
